Now I want to talk about some tapes that come from a Dylan's concert in Canada (1976) during his Rolling Thunder Tour. I'm going to start with 4 songs.
1.The Times They Are a-Changin'
2.Dark As a Dungeon
3.Never let me go
4.I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine
No, I don't talk about Hendrix's crying, I mean Hendrix covering another Dylan's song. Here is a Hendrix's version of "Tears of Rage", a song recorded in the Dylan period of "Basement Tapes". So, here we have a classic one.
When a musical expeditionary wants to talk about great Dylan's songs covers, it is recommendable to keep in mind Hendrix's efforts. Here a beautiful Hendrix's cover. The song is "Drifter's Escape", it is a song that was released by Dylan in his album "John Wesley Hardin".
On February 17 and 18, 1969, Cash and Dylan recorded more than a dozen duets in Nashville. Only the song “Girl From the North Country,” made it onto the album,Nashville Skyline. The others were never officially released, but have long been circulating as bootlegs. Here, one of these recordings: "Ring of Fire", a great version.
As far as I know, this is the only Dylan live performance of "Spanish is the loving tongue", the other ones are studio takes. It was recorded in San Antonio, Texas, in 1976.
Elvis Presley recorded Tomorrow is a Long Time (a Bob Dylan song) on May 26, 1966 during a session for his album How Great Thou Art. Dylan once said that Presley's cover of the song was "the one recording I treasure the most." So here is this lovely version.
